Merazzo Flooring

Merazzo Flooring – Endless possibilities

Merazzo consists of a traditional cast asphalt base with a modern finish that can be specified in one of five distinctive colours, black, red, grey, beige, or brown. The Merazzo effect is completed by a selection of crushed stone, also available in a wide range of different colors, which are mixed with asphalt before laying.

The Merazzo floor or tile is then laid and finished to the correct specification – either highly polished, matt, smooth or simply rough. This means that Merazzo flooring has endless possibilities to suit any design situation.

Merazzo – A new kind of cast asphalt floor

Merazzo is a decorative floor, which means it can easily be used in shopping centers, schools or hospitals, offering years of trouble-free operation. Because it is seamless, it is easy to maintain and keep clean, and if damaged, is easily repaired at minimal cost.

Its high strength and durability mean that Merazzo is equally suitable for outdoor roads, car parks, and pavements.

BRIGHTON ROCKS

This stunning terrazzo floor – formulated from cast asphalt to create this unique style and finish – was installed at the new Patterns nightclub on Marine Parade, Brighton.

Approximately 200 square meters of Merazzo flooring was installed inside the club and extended to the hard surfaces and ramps immediately outside by leading contractor Bell Asphalt.

Merazzo cast iron asphalt floors can be installed in a wide variety of colors and finishes. For the job at Patterns, run by Andy Maddocks of bar and events operator Mothership Group, architect Andrew Haythornthwaite specified a specific grade of stone grinding to produce a bespoke finish – now called ‘Brighton Rock’.
